Packing Boxes for Moving

The sizes of Moving Boxes for Packing may slightly vary depending on where they are purchased from and when packing boxes for moving, they should only be packed to a weight not exceeding 25kg. Rule of thumb is if you can carry it our removalists will have no problems. For small weighty items, book boxes should be used and for larger items like linen/clothing/toys etc, standard cartons are suitable. Please ensure that enough paper has been used, to eliminate items from moving during transit as this is generally when damage can occur.
Packing paper:
Clean butchers paper should be used for all packing needs. Most
removals or
storage companies can supply you with the correct material. Newspaper is not
so good to use, due to the chance of ink poisoning from
printed paper and the use of butcher’s paper eliminates the need for
re-washing of items.
Tape:
There are many varieties of tape that can be used and most tape that is
approximately 6 to 8cm wide will be fine. We recommend to tape all seams of
the cartons and tape across carton as well.
Port a robes.
If required, port a robes can be purchased or hired. Port a robes are
designed for clothing that would usually be hung in a wardrobe etc. To work
out Port a robe requirements for your relocation, the general formula is for
every lineal metre of hanging space equals one Port a robe.
